Tribunal español suspende la entrega de ‘El Pollo’ Carvajal a EEUU prevista para mañana

La Audiencia Nacional, la jurisdicción en España a cargo de las extradiciones, dejó en suspenso la entrega a Estados Unidos del ex responsable de inteligencia venezolano Hugo “El Pollo” Carvajal, según anunció el tribunal este viernes.

Ante un recurso de la defensa de Carvajal, el tribunal determinó que hubo un defecto de forma en un auto anterior de la Audiencia Nacional, por lo que “ha acordado suspender la materialización de la entrega a Estados Unidos” del general retirado, solicitado por la justicia de ese país por narcotráfico, según el comunicado de la corte, reseñó AFP.

En Madrid a, veintidós de octubre de dos mil veintiuno.
Dada cuenta; los anteriores escritos de la representación procesal del reclamado Hugo Armando Carvajal Barrios, únanse y teniendo en cuenta lo expresado en el último párrafo del Fundamento Jtirfdico Quinto del Auto de 24 de enero de 2020 dictado por el Pleno de La Sala de lo Penal desestimando incidente de nulidad de actuaciones, lo que no se recoge en su parte dispositiva, en aras a la Tutela judicial efectiva queda en suspenso la materialización de la entrega a los Estados Unidos de América del Norte y remítase copia testimoniada del escrito de la defensa y del presente proveído al Pleno de la Sala para que resuelva.
Queda sin objeto la petición que hace la defensa en base a la solicitud de medidas cautelares ante la Sala Tercera del Tribunal Supremo.
Así lo acuerdan tos limos. Sres. Magistrados anotados al margen y rubrica el Ilmo. Sr. Presidente, de lo que doy fe.
DILIGENCIA: Seguidamente se cumple lo acordado, doy fe.
