Pelé vuelve a cuidados intensivos tras ser operado

El brasileño Edson Arantes do Nascimento ‘Pelé’, considerado para muchos como el mejor futbolista de la historia, tuvo que ser ingresado este viernes nuevamente en una unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) tras la operación en que se le extrajo un tumor en el colon, por complicaciones en su estado de salud.

El ‘Rey’ del fútbol para los brasileños, que está hospitalizado desde finales de agosto y hace tres días había sido transferido a una habitación del Hospital Albert Einstein de Sao Paulo, volvió hoy a una unidad de cuidados intensivos tras haber presentado problemas de reflujo, informaron diferentes portales deportivos.

De acuerdo con el canal ESPN Brasil, el exfutbolista de 80 años permanece estable pero sus médicos prefirieron ingresarlo en la unidad de cuidados intensivos como medida de precaución y para poder acompañarlo con mayor atención.

La información tuvo amplia repercusión pero no fue oficializada ni por la asesoría de prensa del exfutbolista ni por la dirección del Hospital Albert Einstein, que dijo que este mismo viernes divulgará un nuevo boletín médico con las novedades sobre la salud del llamado «atleta del siglo».

El martes, tras abandonar la UCI y ser transferido a una habitación, Pelé publicó un mensaje en las redes sociales para festejar su recuperación en el que dijo estar listo para «jugar los 90 minutos y la prórroga».

«Estaremos juntos en breve», agregó en su mensaje.

Pelé fue hospitalizado el 31 de agosto para exámenes de rutina en los que le fue identificado un tumor en el colon que le fue extraído en la cirugía a la que fue sometido el 4 de septiembre.

Los resultados de los exámenes patológicos y de la biopsia del tumor aún no fueron divulgados.
