El FC Barcelona anunció este miércoles la destitución del técnico del primer equipo, Ronald Koeman, después de que los azulgranas perdieran, en Vallecas (1-0), su segundo partido consecutivo en LaLiga Santander.
«El presidente del club, Joan Laporta, se lo ha comunicado después de la derrota ante el Rayo Vallecano. Ronald Koeman se despidió de la plantilla esta noche»; informó la entidad azulgrana en un comunicado en el que agradece al preparador neerlandés «los servicios prestados» y le desea «mucha suerte» en su vida y su carrera profesional.
La derrota ante el Rayo sitúa al conjunto azulgrana noveno en la clasificación, con 15 puntos de 30 posibles, lo que les sitúa a la misma distancia -8 puntos- del líder de la competición, el Real Madrid, que del descenso.
Al mal juego del equipo y los malos resultados en Liga -todavía no sabe lo que es ganar como visitante esta temporada- hay que sumar el mal arranque en la Liga de Campeones.
Y es que en la máxima competición continental ha sufrido dos goleadas ante el Bayern de Múnich (0-3) y el Benfica (3-0) y solo ha podido ganar por la mínima al Dinamo de Kiev en el Camp Nou (1-0).
Fuentes del club azulgrana confirmaron a EFE que el favorito para ocupar el banquillo que Koeman deja vacante es Xavi Hernández, actual entrenador del Al Sadd catarí.
Sin embargo, la contratación del que fuera capitán del Barça aún no está cerrada, por lo que el entrenador del filial, Sergi Barjuan, podría dirigir al equipo de forma interina en la visita del Deportivo Alavés en la competición doméstica, este sábado, y en un nuevo duelo de Champions en Kiev el próximo martes.
