El presidente brasileño, Jair Bolsonaro, agradeció este jueves la ayuda ofrecida por Argentina ante la emergencia causada por las lluvias en el país; aclaró haberla rechazado por no ser la más adecuada y alegó que una mejor ayuda sería recibir parte de los venezolanos refugiados en Brasil.
«Agradezco a (el presidente argentino) Alberto Fernández por la oferta, pero diez personas no nos ayudarían en este momento y tal vez hasta generarían dificultades. Si tienen otra cosa para ofrecer, yo agradezco. Si otros países de Suramérica quieren colaborar y recibir venezolanos que entran por miles por nuestra frontera también agradezco«, afirmó el jefe de Estado.
«De querer acoger a los venezolanos que están en (el estado amazónico brasileño de) Roraima y que huyeron del hambre, de la miseria y del comunismo, lo aceptamos», afirmó el mandatario en la tradicional transmisión en directo por redes sociales con la que se comunica con sus seguidores todos los jueves.
287 mil venezolanos refugiados en Brasil
El líder ultraderechista aseguró que Brasil ha concedido el estatus de refugiado a cerca de 287 mil venezolanos que huyeron de la crisis económica, política, social y humanitaria de su país y que la mayor parte permanece en Roraima, en la frontera con Venezuela.
Según los datos de la llamada Operación Acogida, del total de venezolanos reconocidos como refugiados, unos 64 mil están distribuidos en 778 municipios con la intención de que tengan mejores condiciones de obtener trabajo.
Pese a que el gobernante brasileño no lo mencionó, gran parte de los cerca de 600 mil venezolanos que han ingresado a Brasil en los últimos años tan solo estuvieron temporalmente en el país y siguieron rumbo a otros países, como Argentina, Chile y Bolivia.
«Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile y otros países que quieran recibir venezolanos… Estamos listos para enviarlos no solo a municipios del interior de Brasil sino también de otros países de Suramérica que puedan ayudar y acoger a esos venezolanos que están huyendo del chavismo», afirmó.
Críticas a Bolsonaro
El rechazo de la ayuda argentina a Brasil para atender la emergencia provocada por las lluvias que castigan el estado de Bahía (nordeste) ha generado numerosas críticas, especialmente porque coincidió con las vacaciones que Bolsonaro disfruta esta semana en las playas del sur de Brasil y que se negó a interrumpir.
Bolsonaro ya había explicado este jueves en mensajes en las redes sociales que Argentina ofreció «10 hombres (‘cascos blancos’)» para colaborar con la distribución de «tiendas de campaña, selección de donaciones y asistencia psicosocial» a los afectadas por las inundaciones.
No obstante, dijo que «el fraterno ofrecimiento argentino» se recibió «cuando las Fuerzas Armadas de Brasil, en coordinación con Defensa Civil, ya estaban prestando ese tipo de asistencia».
«Por esa razón, se evaluó que la ayuda argentina no resultaría necesaria en aquel momento, pero podría accionarse oportunamente, en caso de un agravamiento de la situación», apuntó.
“Surgieron fake news”
«Ahora surgen fake news que dicen que no me importa lo que ocurre en Bahía. La semana pasada estuve en Bahía y la prensa me criticó con el argumento de que había ido a hacer campaña electoral y ahora me critican por no haber ido», dijo Bolsonaro este jueves.
«Ahora dicen que Bolsonaro rechazó la ayuda argentina. Ofrecieron 10 hombres que distribuirían ayudas, pero para nosotros sería muy costoso transportarlos e instalarlos en un lugar específico», alegó.
Agregó que no rechazó la ayuda de Argentina por cuestiones ideológicas y dijo que Brasil está dispuesto a recibir la ayuda de cualquier país que ofrezca materiales necesarios, como tiendas de campaña o colchones.
Igualmente, dijo que en conversaciones con la cancillería brasileña, el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Argentina aclaró que cualquier ayuda será prestada por intermedio del Gobierno federal de Brasil.
La aclaración fue una respuesta al gobernador del estado de Bahía, Rui Costa, dirigente de un partido de la oposición y que dijo que aceptará la ayuda ofrecida por Argentina y que fue rechazada por el Gobierno federal de Brasil.
